Bar owner sells Obama '08 T-shirts depicting the candidate as a monkey...
Mike Norman a bar owner in the small town of Marietta, Georgia, finds no problem with the t-shirts that he is selling. These t-shirts have a picture of a monkey resembling the cartoon character Curious George peeling a banana with a banner underneath the picture saying "Obama in '08". He is quoted as saying "Look at him ... the hairline, the ears —- he looks just like Curious George."
Wow. Yeah. What an asshole.It's ridiculous that there are still people in our who are doing things like this. Even if he isn't racist there is no doubt in my mind that he knew that the t-shirts create a stir. Oh well..I guess this is just the world that we live in. Sad.
I drove by this place on my way to work for years, and they had some of the most racist, non-pc billboard signs I've ever seen...now, I like a good joke, or some poking fun at, hell, I'm mexican (but have lived here all of my life, and don't speak a word of spanish), but this place really pushes it. I'd be surprised to learn that they haven't ever had any repercussions for their public display of freedom of speech...
